EDUCATION, WELL-BEING AND NATIONAL INTEGRATION - International Seminar, November 12-13, 2013 at B. N. P. G. College, Udaipur, India
International Seminar, November 12-13, 2013 was organized
at B. N. P. G. College in the aegis of Bhupal Nobles’ Sansthan. This seminar
was held in association with Indo-German Society, Rajasthan Chapter, India,
Academy of Well-Being Society, National Social Service units of B. N. P. G. and
B. N. Girls’ College. The organizing secretary Dr. Jayshree Singh, HOD,
English, B. N. P. G. College elaborated about the seminar. There was focus on
bringing out strengths, strategies and substantive changes among the youth and
social workforce. This Seminar proved relevant because in the contemporary
times, the human resource as social capital seem to be chasing the rat race of
materialism and capitalism. Education brings change and sensitivity to current
crisis and circumstances, it can only bring contentment and harmony in the
human life, that is necessary for the interest of the nation and people in
general because it will integrate and unite all. It also aimed to enable
participants to interact and to inculcate inter-cultural educational
understanding, which is important to bring pedagogic plurality in the
post-colonized world and holistic approach in the curriculum. It urged to
generate wellbeing and balance both within heart and mind in order to recreate
oneself for making contribution in the nation-building process and preserving
the culture, family and heritage.
The Seminar Director, Dr. Maina Jain informed that there
were six technical sessions, besides inaugural and valedictory sessions, in
which almost 70 papers were presented. The technical session speakers were Dr.
Smita Singh-Director, Udaipur Dental Clinic; Dr. Sujjan Singh, Eminent
Educationist, Dr. Neekee Chaturvedi-Govt. College Dausa, Mr. Hemant
Agarwal-Joint Secretary, Indo-German Society, Dr. Madhu Murdia- Pacific
University, Ms. Ankita Shekhawat- Research Scholar, IIS University Jaipur, Mr. Arvind Kumar-MLSU, Udaipur, Dr.
Ashwin Ranjanikar, S.S.M College, Aurangabad, Dr. Madhavi Rathore, Dr. Ruchi
Singh, Mr. Vikas Bhatt – Program Coordiantor, Education Unit, Seva Mandir, Dr.
Dolly Mogra, Dr. Kalpana Jain –Asso. Prof., MLSU, Udaipur, Dr. Gayatri Tiwari,

Panel Discussion speakers were from all across multi- disciplinary fields such
as Ms. Ursula Dunckern from Germany,
Dieuwetje Heil from Holland, Prof. Pawan Surana, Prof. Vijay Laxmi Chouhan,
Prof. M. K. Bhargava - Ex-V.C. of Jagannath University Jaipur, Prof. A. Raman-Senior Scientist, ISRO, the Principal GITS, Udaipur,
Prof. R. K. Chandak-Dean Faculty of Commerce, CURAJ, Kishangarh, Dr. Namokar
Jain-former Prof. in MNIT, Jaipur, Dr. Nirmala Shah- Ex- Principal of Meera
Girls’ College, Udaipur, Mr. Varun Bhansali from ZEE TV News.
In the Inaugural Session, Chairperson of the organizing
team Dr. Vikram Singh Shaktawat, Principal, B.N.P.G.College welcomed the guests
and the delegates. On this occasion Souvenir was published and released. The
Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. I.V.Trivedi of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University,
Udaipur in his Chief Guest address spoke about the role of education
cannot be ignored for world peace, prevailing in present times. The Special
Honourable Guest, Prof. Pawan Surana, Hon. Sec. General of Indo-German Society,
Ex-Chairperson of State Women’s Commission, Rajasthan said that one can contribute to nation
building by recreating oneself and by inter-cultural understanding. The Guest
of Honour Dr. Mahendra Singh Agaria, Secretary of Vidya Pracharini Sabha –
Bhupal Nobles’ Sansthan opined that Education is a tool that can lead one to
enhancement. The Special Guest Prof. Vijay Laxmi Chouhan alleged that the
theoretical perspective is as necessary as behavioral perspective while
imparting and receiving education for the sake of well-being in one’s life.
Prof. A. Raman, Scientist, ISRO and the Principal of GITS, Udaipur focused on
the importance of education instills positive energy and thoughts and the
spirit of national unity.
In the Valedictory Session, Dr. Subodh Agrawal, Divisional
Commissioner and Ex-Officio Commissioner, T.A.D., Udaipur, in his Chief Guest
address said that education will also always remain significant for national
integration as well as for human being’s well-being. Education is fundamental
in the changing global perspectives. While giving example of the scientist
Albert Einstein he said that where science ends, there the religion begins. So
decision taken by healthy heart is the key to success. India lacks awareness
regards education and value added education will help in bringing harmony in
life.
Honorable Guest Prof. P. K. Jain, Dean, Faculty of
Finance & Management in his valedictory address highlighted that positive
perceptions signify consciousness for national integration and well being. The
knowledge attained to education can advance a person to right direction. It is
necessary to remove through education the distance caused between the high
& low sections of the society. Dr. Laxmi Raman, Senior Scientist, ISRO in
her Guest-of-Honour address emphasized upon women education. While giving
examples of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Kiran Bedi, Kalpana Chawla she said that
education can bring in women self-confidence and self-decision making capacity
and they can contribute well in harmonious life by their performance.
Dr. Niranjan Narayan Singh Rathore, the Managing Director
of B. N. Sansthan expressed his contentment for the successful completion of
the seminar and he said that this would bring out recommendations for better
society as well as for the well-being of the nation. Dr. Rashmi Singh, HOD, Maths,
B. N. Girls’ College presented the report about the seminar. Prof. Natwar Lal
Sharma, Principal, B. N. Girls’ College also addressed that through this
seminar that delegates will get awareness for enriching their thought-process. The
seminar director Dr. Maina Jain gave vote of thanks to all.
