A POETIC TRIBUTE TO -
Dr Raja Ram Mohan Roy
Born - 22 May 1772
Died - 27th September 1833
Once a reformer in his refrains

Lived with an ordeal full of strains
The fire in his belly filled his heart with pain
The desire in mind filtered his hunger with no gain
 Self-immolation in fire
 Self-immolation on pyre
Witnessed many mothers and men less women
Harnessed many sisters to remain men less women
 Reformer's eyes bore the mayhem
 Earth's daughters bore the harem
Many other singletons never lived and sore in sky
Many unwed could never step out of their realm with joy
The trailblazers tossed their reforming minds in woods
The trailblazers got crushed their burning minds in woods
Dying their self rather pruning their feathers
Losing their grit rather priming their survivors
Survivors inner realm in restless gush
Sufferers entrapped in damned ambush
Had there been anyone to eliminate this toxicity?
Had there been anyone to check disservice to dignity?
Had there been someone to persist upon respect and positivity?
Had there been someone to save dignity from toxic atrocity?
Some voices invoked the voiceless reformer
Many silences evoked the voiced reformer
And shouted to him be -
"Awake Arise Awake"
Fearless reformer in haunted rage
Featherless reformer in restricted cage
And ignited him to -
"Awake Arise Awake"
Why such saviour Sons are till date respected ?
Why such sacrifices of mothers are till date disrespected?
The silver line that stops the beam among brothers is
the will to stake
The dirge of fire that stalks the hope among sisters is
the stand to take
The hearth with fire that stoops the will of fathers is
the desire to eat the cake
Till date reformers who may be fathers crave for daughters
Till date the daughters who look for reformers crave for fathers
With the love to restore hearth and fire
With the hope to save dearth and dire.
